LINDUNG24: 7 Situations That May Not Be Covered

Published on: August 20, 2026

LINDUNG24 provides protection for eligible non-work-related accidents in Malaysia. However, certain situations may not qualify for compensation.

Here are 7 important exclusions to take note of:

Illness or Disease

Work-Related Accidents

Accidents Outside Malaysia

Intentional Self-Injury

LINDUNG24 covers accidents, not illnesses. Conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, cancer, kidney disease, dengue and pneumonia are not covered.

Accidents occurring while working or carrying out work duties are not covered under LINDUNG24, including workplace injuries and commuting accidents.

The protection applies to eligible non-work-related accidents occurring within Malaysia. Accidents during overseas travel, business trips or studies are not covered.

Deliberate self-harm or intentionally causing an accident may be treated as fraudulent and will not qualify for compensation.

Injuries Resulting from Criminal Activities

Alcohol or Drug-Related Accidents

Other Exclusions Under the Applicable Rules

Injuries arising from unlawful or criminal activities, such as illegal racing or fighting, may not be covered.

Where an accident is directly linked to alcohol or drug influence, compensation eligibility may be affected and will depend on the circumstances of the case.

Other exclusions may apply based on the scheme terms, legal requirements and eligibility conditions.

The final decision will be subject to the applicable legislation, scheme terms and PERKESO’s investigation findings.

Key Takeaway

Understanding what is not covered is just as important as understanding the benefits available under LINDUNG24.
